Description
Diethylcarbamazine (DEC) is utilized to treat specific parasitic diseases caused by certain types of roundworms. These include lymphatic filariasis caused by Wuchereria bancrofti, Brugia malayi, or Brugia timori; tropical pulmonary eosinophilia; and loiasis. DEC works by eliminating the worms responsible for these infections.
